Blessings

For years, I have had the feeling that God is guiding me toward writing something to serve God’s purpose. For years, I have been shaping this work, trying to work it from my soul and my mind onto paper.

One of the sections that I have come up with that I believe is vital to this work is a section on finding the blessings in challenges. Trying to look at some tough challenges that we have faced as a nation and trying to find the blessings wrapped up inside these challenges. I truly believe the old adage that God does not close a door without opening a window.

My doctor told me this afternoon that I have diabetes. As I talked this over with a loved one tonight, I realized that, in order to be true to my belief, I have to figure out the blessing wrapped up in this challenge.

Right at this moment, I am having a difficult time doing this. All that I can think is “I don’t want to have diabetes.”

So stay tuned. As I process this, and get past the initial shock, I am challenging myself to discover the blessing hidden inside this challenge.

Peace.

Randal
